Batteries are an essential part of a UPS system when it comes to supporting the critical load and should be regularly checked by a trained engineer for damage, leakage or corrosion. UPS batteries usually have a design life of either 5 or 10 years and often need replacing after 4 or 8 years depending on site and UPS operating conditions.
